The Next Generation of Cooling Refrigerants.

An air conditioner or heat pump counts on its refrigerant to cool and dehumidify the air before it’s streamed back into your home. This liquid is found within the coils of a cooling system, but one of the most common refrigerants that’s been in use for many years – the R-22 (Freon) is now being gradually eliminated due to environmental concerns. In fact, this phase-out was mandated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency through the Clean Air Act. By 2020, the production of R-22 will end all together.

Introducing R-410A

R-410AR-410A is EPA-recognized, chlorine-free and ozone-friendly. That means it’ll cool your home without harming the environment. What’s more, Lennox’s highest efficiency systems are engineered to use this AC refrigerant, which can help your system perform efficiently. The same Lennox systems are known for reliability, quiet operation and better dehumidification, so you’re sure to stay comfortable.

Additional Considerations

At TemperaturePro® in Englewood, our cooling offerings can work with R-410A. If you have a system that was made prior to 2010, you may want to consider replacing your cooling system now, before R-22 is completely phased out. Some manufacturers carry alternate refrigerants such as R-407C, R-438A and R-422, however, they may not work with an R-22 AC or heat pump and could compromise your system’s performance.
